Call to nominate providers who support use of Welsh in social care
The Welsh Government is calling for nominations for the Words Into Action Awards 2014 which honour providers who support the provision of bilingual services in the health, social services and social care sectors.
Previously known as the Welsh Language in Healthcare Conference and Awards, the awards will take place during the Words into Action Conference on June 19 at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff.
As well as giving the awards a new name, the organisers have broadened the scope of the awards this year to include those working in social services and social care as well as health. The new name for the awards is also designed to reflect the objectives of the More Than Just Words strategic framework.
New awards categories for 2014
New categories have been introduced for 2014 which include:
- ‘Care base on the Active Offer’ [sic];
- ‘IT and the Welsh Language’;
- ‘Supporting Learners’ and
- ‘Exceptional commitment to providing Welsh Language service.
In addition, for the first time, there will be a minister’s Special Award for the best overall nominee. The aim of this prize is to reward an exceptional nominee (or project or service) who has made the greatest contribution to realise the objectives of More Than Just Words.
The closing date for nominations is the 14th March 2014.
